Daniell Development’s management team is comprised of seasoned professionals with global experience in the real estate and finance industries.  Our executives average 22.5 years of industry experience and have collectively acquired, managed, and sold over $5 billion in real estate assets.  Our board of directors each have over 35.5 years of industry experience in their respective fields.

Joseph L. Daniell, Founder, Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Daniell has an extensive track record of  acquisitions and dispositions, and has built his career by making strategic investments based on market intelligence, creating innovation in the industry, and by his entry and exit strategies.  Mr. Daniell has wide-reaching relationships within the hospitality, real estate, and banking industries, and has successfully acquired, repositioned, and sold over $500 million worth of assets in the last four years.

Louis T. Walsh, Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Walsh has more than 18 years of real estate acquisitions, asset management, and corporate operations experience, and has executed major acquisitions on behalf of private equity funds, public corporations, and high net worth individuals.  Mr. Walsh has commercial experience in the development and operation of corporate real estate departments and private investment companies including a Fortune 500 Corporations with a real estate portfolio of over 5 Million square feet.

Anders Kruus, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Kruus is a finance expert with the ability to quickly enhance departments with technology and productivity, his 14 year tenure at Citibank saw over 20% revenue growth in his department.   In addition, he served as VP of Capital Markets for Wilkinson Corporation, where he structured the portfolio of assets for a $100 million Canadian REIT IPO, expanded their portfolio of assets from $90 million to $230 million in less than 18 months, and re-capitilized another portfolio adding value of $35 million.   He is best known for his outstanding ability to structure transparent processes to attain profitability and core objectives quickly and with results.

Sutton Wheeler,  VP Acquisitions and Asset Management (East)

Mr. Wheeler came directly to Brightside from the Trump Organization where he managed a portfolio of debt and assets valued at over $500 million dollars, worked directly with Mr. Trump on development and acquisitions, and spearheaded a $400 million dollar private equity fund.  He is well versed in capital raises, acquisitions, asset management, and development.   Mr. Wheeler has also served as an investment banker on Wall Street, formed and managed a $50 million dollar real estate fund, and managed a wide variety of commercial assets on behalf of a large family development company in Texas.

Adrian J. Glover, VP Acquisitions and Asset Management (West)

Mr. Glover has a long and profitable career in business development in hospitality and resort assets.  Mr. Glover has built and financed hotels ranging from 100 luxury rooms to over 5,000 resort keys.  He was a national director for Marriott for over 14 years and won the “National Development Director of the Year Award” for annualized profit contribution.  He has acquired, developed, repositioned and sold more than 32,000 keys all over the world and is skilled at finance, deal structure, negotiations and dispositions.  Mr. Glover has worked closely with the institutional brands in the USA as well as international brands.

Timothy J. Lindgren, Board of Directors

Mr. Lindgren was previously employed by Hyatt Hotels for 37 years, and last served in the capacity of Senior Vice President  of Operations for the hotel chain.  Mr. Lindgren has managed over 20 Hyatt hotels, served on the Managing Committee of Global Hyatt Corporation, North America, and years.  He received the Donald M. Pritzker Award for Excellence in operations, was inducted in the Hospitality Hall of Fame and also received a Beacon Award for service and leadership in the hospitality industry.  Hyatt recently honored Mr. Lindgren’s service by renaming the Centennial Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta the “Tim Lindgren Centennial Ballroom”.

Horst Schulze, Board of Directors

Mr. Schulze is the founding president and former chief operating officer of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, won an unprecedented two Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Awards in the Service category, and while under his command was continuously voted “best hotel company in the world” by convention and trade publications.   He also has received “corporate hotelier of the world” by HOTELS Magazine, the prestigious Ishikawa Medal, been inducted into the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau Hall of Fame, and the Hotel Sales and Marketing Association’s International Lifetime Achievement Award.  Currently Mr. Schulze is Chairman, President, and CEO of West Paces Hotel Group and has launched his new “Ultra Luxury Hotel” brand, Capella Hotels & Resorts.
